Finland explores investment opportunities in Sri Lanka

The Ambassador of Finland resident in New Delhi Terhi Hakala made a courtesy visit to the office of the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa this week.

Their discussions focused on renewed interest of the Finnish business community.

Minister Basil Rajapaksa apprised the Finnish Ambassador about investment opportunities available in Sri Lanka such as tourism and hotel industry, renewable power generation, establishment of higher educational institutions, paper mills and business processing outsourcing. They also discussed about signing a trade agreement between the two countries.

The Consul for Finland in Sri Lanka Ashroff Omar and several other officials of the  Finnish Embassy in New Delhi also participated at this occasion.
