First-ever GRI Certification Programme concludes

Ceylon Chamber takes initiative with CII, India

The much acclaimed Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Certificate Programme was held over 2days (19th & 20th October) at the Ramada Hotel Colombo.  There was a positive response from the Corporate Sector and many of the blue chip Companies made use of this great opportunity to receive this certification from the GRI Centre in Netherlands.



Prema Cooray, MD Ceylon Chamber Solutions, remarked that Sri Lankan Companies should showcase their efforts and commitment to the Triple Bottom Line by proper disclosure which will make them eligible to be active players in the global centre of business.   Aruni Rajakariar, Country Rep, ACCA was of the view that many Sri Lankan companies are now role models in following the principles of GRI and should through the usage of the web, report their initiatives in a holistic manner. Bodyline, Brandix, Dialog Axiata, DIMOS, HDFC Bank, Hayleys, HNB Assurance, John Keells, KV Plantations, People’s Leasing, Praguna Cunsult., SJMS Associates & Strategic Initiatives participated.
