NEFSEC, an International Exhibition of Fire, Industrial Safety and Homeland Security, was recently held at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC) for the first time in the country. The event was organised by Nexgen Exhibitions Ltd., Asia’s leading and established exhibition and conference organisers and was attended by Secretary to the Ministry of Law and Order, Chief Guest  Jagath Wijeweera, and Guest of Honour N.G. Panditharatne, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development and Competent Authority for Civil Security Affairs.

The NEFSEC exhibition focused on many sectors devoted to fire, rescue, police, homeland security, surveillance disaster and emergency response. The Homeland Security segment was also co-located at the same venue while it focused on the requirements of defence organisations, disaster management authorities, industrial establishments and households.

This expo held critical importance as the Business-to-Business (B2B) event was instrumental in introducing latest equipment, technology and products for Homeland and Public Security, thereby bringing together key leaders of both segments on a single platform, including senior officers of the Ministry of Law and Order, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Disaster Management, Police Force, Civil Defence Force, defence officers, industrial security authorities, public security officers and other industry stakeholders of various countries.

The manufacturers of satellites, telecom and electronic defence equipment and drones were some of the participants at the Expo, while manufacturers of fire control systems and launchers plus other relevant military, police and internal security technology and systems were also featured.

Participants were also able to generate new leads and sales in order to capture new markets, launch and demonstrate products in front of prospective buyers and interact with public and private industry leaders and build their brand image.

The visitor profile included commanding officers, generals, jail superintendents and other senior personnel from the armed forces of Sri Lanka and other countries; police chiefs, forensics labs, disaster management authorities, civil defence officers, secretaries, superintendents; ambassadors; defence attaches; defence and security industry executives; civilian and military police personnel and other traders, dealers and distributors.
