Fortis Healthcare appointed to Lanka Hospitals Board

Following the purchase of 28% stake for Rs. 4 billion in The Lanka Hospitals Corporation, the Singapore registered Fortis Healthcare Global Holdings has got three seats on the Board.

The new appointees are Malvinder Mohan Singh with Vishali Bali as alternate director;  



Shivender Mohan Singh with Balinder Singh Dhillon as alternate director and Sunil Godhwani with Dr. Amit Varma as alternate director.

Lanka Hospitals also announced the resignation of Dr. Ajith Amarasinghe from the Board with effect from 21 March.

Indian billionaire brothers Malvinder Mohan Singh and Shivinder Mohan Singh, the founders of Singapore-based Fortis Global, also control India’s hospital chain Fortis Healthcare The Company said its acquisition of stake in Lanka Hospitals (formerly Apollo Hospital) marked the entry of Fortis Global in one of Asia’s fastest growing economies. Fortis said the acquisition was in line with its vision of creating a Pan Asia healthcare platform and provides an access to one of the fastest growing economies in Asia.
