Fresh honour for Nikado Chairman

The Vijitha Walpola Foundation of Asgiri Maha Viharaya, Kandy, recently presented the Chairman of Nikado Company Limited, A.A. Sunil Gunawardene, with ‘Desha Bandu’, Desha Shakthi’, Desha Keerthi’ and ‘Lanka Puthra’  honorary titles for his yeoman services to the country and nation. Nikado Company is a 100% Sri Lankan organisation that has manufactured rice based convenient foods for over 40 years.

Nikado Company Limited established in 1975, manufactures and distributes easy to prepare, hygienically made instant food items of high quality under the ‘Nikado’ trade name for city and urban housewives of Sri Lanka. 100% rice noodles, dry noodles, papadam, iodised table salt, rice flour, string hopper flour, kurakkan flour, hopper mixture, thosai mixture, rasam cream, bottled drinking water, vinegar and various spices are some of the products of Nikado Company Limited. Nikado Company Limited has won two international awards. One award was for using modern technology in manufacturing their products and the other was an international standardisation certificate for the quality of instant food products. Nikado products are exported to many countries including Italy, the Middle East and the United Kingdom.

Nikado Company Limited has introduced many new products to the market including red and white ‘ripple rice’ noodles made out of 100% local rice using modern technology.
