FutureGov Forum Sri Lanka 2011 next week

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) joins the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) in hosting the Future Gov Forum Sri Lanka ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) sources said. 

The two-day second Annual Future Gov Forum Sri Lanka 2011 will be held at Taj Samudra Colombo on 19th and 20th instant.  Some of the distinguished participants poised for  valuable contribution  at the conference are: Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunga; ICTA CEO Reshan Dewapura; National ICT Australia, Australian e-Government Technology Cluster  Director Dr. Jonathan Gray;  and  United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, ICT and Disaster Risk Division Director Dr. Xuan Zengpei.



ICTA CEO Reshan Dewapura expressed his gratitude to SLT for joining ICTA in hosting Future Gov Sri Lanka 2011. “The SLT’s support to this important national event is certainly a valuable contribution towards more efficient e-Governance”, Dewapura emphasised.   Elaborating on the subject ICTA CEO said: “The forum will focus on effective and efficient e-Governance. It will give participants the rare opportunity to share their views with some of the best practitioners in public service and industry experts in the world”. Accordingly the forum would be an ideal opportunity for all interested in improvements in Government service provided to the public; particularly Government officers will greatly benefited from the forum”, ICTA CEO   affirmed.

“The Mahinda Chintana – Vision for the Future”, the Government’s policy statement holds out the hope of Sri Lanka becoming the regional hub in five sectors one of which is the knowledge sector. The Future Gov Forum Sri Lanka 2011 will focus on creating an environment that better enables the implementation of e-government services thus paving the way for more effective and efficient e-Governance” Dewapura emphasised.
