Generators worth Rs. 250 m for carpeting provincial roads

Electricity generators from China for use in carpeting provincial roads under the direction of the Economic Development Ministry were distributed among the relevant organisations recently.

Minister Basil Rajapaksa presided over the ceremony held at the Defence Ministry premises. The total value of the 10 generators (with a capacity of 600 KW each) is around Rs. 250 million. They were given to the Road Development Authority (RDA), Central engineering consultancy bureau (CECB), State Engineering Corporation of Sri Lanka (SEC), State Development and Construction Corporation (SD&CC) and provincial Road Development Authority (PRDA). Construction, engineering services and common amenities Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna was among the participants at the event.
