The range of chicken products from Cargills – Goldi and Sam’s – have been awarded SLS standards certification in addition to International ISO standards certification awarded to Goldi products.
The Cargills Quality Foods (CQF) manufacturing facility that produces the Goldi and Sams range has the distinction of earning ISO 9001:2000 for Quality Management, ISO 14001:2004 for Environment Management and ISO 22000: 2005 for Food Safety Management.
The plant located in Jaela is a highly sophisticated manufacturing facility and its modern equipment has the capacity to produce a full range of meat products and delicacies using both traditional and international recipes.
Mevan Perera, General Manager of CQF commenting on the SLS certification, said: “This delicious range of mouth-watering meat products made from a fine blend of exquisite traditional recipes and advanced food manufacturing technology is now replete with unprecedented quality and food standards both internationally and now locally. The entire manufacturing process is fully automated and highly sterile ensuring a nutritious, tasty and safe product for consumption.
“The Cargills Chicken Products range is manufactured in a facility with anti-bacterial cold rooms, cold storage and is one that is technologically advanced and it is manned by expert qualified personnel which ensures the highest and the most stringent standards of safety and quality as exemplified by the certification awarded,” added Nirupa Edirisinghe, who oversees the Quality and Food Safety Standards of CQF.
