GroupM puts digital platforms under spotlight for corporate Sri Lanka

GroupM Sri Lanka is taking a major initiative to put digital platforms under spotlight for the benefit of corporate Sri Lanka.
Digital platforms are evolving rapidly and are changing conventional marketing approaches and thinking. Today the consumers are in command with the power of expression. Social media also influences people’s buying behaviours. With this paradigm shift, today’s marketers need to embrace digital and social marketing to incorporate to the marketing mix. Therefore marketers have to believe and embrace these challenges sooner than later to find the most suitable solutions.
To highlight the business case for digital platforms, GroupM will hold its inaugural digital conference under the theme Circuit Colombo 2014 on 4 December at the Park Street Mews. It is organised by GroupM’s Digital media arm GroupM interaction, which is one of the largest digital media outfits in Sri Lanka.
The objective of this conference is to share with partners, clients, media and suppliers, the knowledge, new trends and learnings of the ever-evolving space of digital and social media with a focus on 2015 trends and challenges.
The theme circuit while in a technical term is synonymous with hardware and digital platforms from a consumers point of view digital and social media has connected the loop of engagement with the brands, which otherwise was a vacuum through conventional media.
GroupM Interaction has access to key tools that provide key insights on consumer behaviours and also has strategic partnerships with companies such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, Sizmek, Yahoo, MSN, etc. GroupM Interaction is constantly at the vanguard of technology by embracing new technological developments.
Recently GroupM invested a substantial amount on Xaxis, which is a global digital media platform which programmatically connects advertisers and publishers to audiences across all addressable channels. Xaxis combines proprietary technology, unique data assets and exclusive media relationships with the brightest team of audience analysts, data scientists and software engineers.
The conference has sourced a line of eminent resource personnel from the region as keynote speakers who will share their technical knowledge, experiences and case studies, which are relevant to the Sri Lankan market as well as being adoptable.
Experts include Director for Ecommerce and Online Classifieds at Google India, Nitin Bawankule, Agency Head, Global Marketing Solutions at Facebook, Vidyadhar Kale, Social Practice Head GroupM India Karthik Nagarajan and Director Xaxis India, Atique Kazi. They will be joined by a host of local experts from the industry and businesses.
The event on Thursday will include several panel discussions covering a range of topics such as ‘Multi-screen Planning: Is it relevant in Sri Lanka?’ ‘Comparing the ROI of Digital vs. Traditional Media’; ‘Value of an Online Influencer’; ‘What’s next in Digital?’ and will wrap up with a session on ‘Marketing in the Digital Age’, which will feature top CEOs.
