All the extensions were designed with four standby sockets and an always on socket. If any customer wants 24 hour power supply, always on socket can be used. The energy saving power meter enables consumers to measure energy use and calculate cost of running domestic appliances. “Based on the readings, customers can reduce their electricity bills by indentifying the equipments which consumes a high amount of power and effecting solutions,” Wicramaratne said. Accumulated carbon footprint is also an additional function of the power meter. MASDA extension leads and power meter are available at all the Arpico Supercentres, Arpico Super Stores and leading electrical shops island wide. “All these products come with one year comprehensive guarantee. We have all the spare parts of the equipments making it easier to provide a service even after guarantee period,” he said. According to Wicramaratne, these power extensions were ideal for corporate establishments and banks where there is large number of desktop computers being used, to save energy and money because extensions have ability to automatically stop power when attached electric equipments were on standby mode.
