A sophisticated fully-automatic Computer to Plate (CTP) system has been launched in Sri Lanka by Hayleys Consumer (HCPL), significantly strengthening the company’s offering to the Graphic Arts industry.
Unveiled to industry representatives in Colombo recently, the CRON TP 4632E CTP system is one of the 46” Series of CTP products manufactured by the global CTP supplier CRON Machinery & Electronics Co. Ltd., of Hangzhou, China. Hayleys Consumer is the authorised distributor in Sri Lanka for the complete range of CRON CTP Systems.
This machine can produce between 17 plates (2,400 dpi; width 1030 mm) and 30 plates (1,500 dpi; width 800mm) per hour, enabling images created in the graphic arts industry to be output directly to printing plates with ease.
Considered the most stable and quiet CTP machines in the world, the CRON CTP machines have a unique Dual Dynamic Drum System, a special optical step-less focus system for multiple imaging resolution, a high-powered independent and single-channelled laser and a linear electric motor scanning system with V-shaped guide rails for long-lasting precision and low maintenance.
These machines can be switched from thermal to ultraviolet or violet mode and vice versa within four hours, enabling users to convert their plate making process to suit market demand, with a small additional investment.
“CRON has been granted more than 20 patents and other proprietary intellectual property rights, and is a world leader in pre-press equipment,” said Selvaratnam Nimal, Business Unit Head of Hayleys Consumer. “These CTP systems offer true on-line plate making with great quality, speed and flexibility. We are excited at the potential to market CRON CTP in Sri Lanka.”
He said CRON has a service network in more than 50 countries, offers 24-hour technical support and guarantees spare parts storage for up to 10 years. The company also offers training courses, technology upgrade training and colour management and other value added services.
“CRON is a leading manufacturer within its industry,” Mr. Nimal said. “The company’s founder and Chairman Mike Xiang has led the R&D team of CRON to many patented technologies in China, and brought its products to the global stage.”
Hayleys Consumer, which also represents a wide range of ancillary products and consumables for the printing industry, would offer a total solution to customers, Mr. Nimal said. In addition to CTP systems, the company also supplies Huqui Plate processors, plates and chemicals from Fujifilm, Xitron workflow solutions, pre-press software and spectro plate densitometers from Techkon, along with aftersales, maintenance and repair services.
The largest CTP manufacturer in China as well as the only CTP supplier with a complete line of thermal, UV, Violet and VLF CTP systems, CRON does its own product design and manufacturing of the machines. CRON has been certified ISO9001 and ISO14001 compliant and all CRON CTPs have gained CE and RoHS certification. The company’s annual production capacity is 2,000 CTP machines.
The representative of some of the world’s leading brands in Photo Imaging, Consumer Lighting, Healthcare, Homecare and FMCGs, Hayleys Consumer has an extensive distribution network comprising of 70,000 outlets in Sri Lanka. The company’s products have helped improve lifestyles and the quality of life of Sri Lankan consumers in the hinterland and in the most cosmopolitan localities.
