Helping hand to develop tourism sector in provincial councils

The Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism Development Authority has initiated a programme to develop tourism sectors in provincial level.

Under this programme Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa handed over Rs. 198 million in cheques to the North western provincial council, Western provincial council, Uwa provincial council and Southern provincial council to develop the provincial tourisms industry.

Governor of Southern Province Kumari Balasooriya, Governor of Western Province Alavi Maulana, Athula Wijesingha, Chief Minister of Western Province Prasanna Ranathunga, Minister of Tourisms in Uwa Provincial Council Anura Widhanagamage and Chairman of the Tourism Development Authority Dr. Nalaka Godahewa also participated at the event
