Igniting entrepreneurial fervour with ‘Flame Entrepreneur Awards’

In a bid to ignite the passion of mid segment entrepreneurs and support their endeavours, Western Province Ministers office announced the prestigious ‘Flame Entrepreneur Awards Western Province 2016’ which will be held on 22 October at the Galle Face Hotel Colombo under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena. 

The Flame Entrepreneur Awards focuses on building a seed pipeline of future entrepreneurs that will promote a culture of calculated risks, productivity and efficiency that will lead to long term economic progress. 

The guest of honour at the Flame Entrepreneur Awards Western Province 2016 will be Dr. Young Hoon Paik who is a prominent expert on international business arena and the Korean economy. His knowhow in developing Small and Medium entrepreneurs would be a definite factor in developing the grass root level entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka.

“In line with the new economic goals, we hope to encourage entrepreneurship amongst our youth and assist them become an integral part of the country’s prosperity and innovation. The motive behind Flame awards is to set the stage for mid segment entrepreneurs to build and become a part of a mega event by showcasing their strengths and capabilities to the business arena,” commented Chief Minister of Western Province Isura Devapriya.  

The concept ‘FLAME’ was developed with a holistic view to uphold and encourage mid segment entrepreneurs who will be the backbone of Sri Lanka’s future progress. 

Through creating a platform such as this, the Ministry aims to assist entrepreneurs explore inventive solutions to funding needs, adopt productivity and efficiency development in their respective ventures and create a strong network of entrepreneurs. 

“It is truly a pleasure to be part of this awards night organised by the Chief Minister’s office in Western province in the presence of Maithripala Sirisena. I intend to take this initiative forward with many more such awards nights to assist the Western Province business community to experience international standard business progress,” Chief Minister of Western Province Isura Devapriya reiterated.
