IMF’s Mathai to speak at Key Person’s Forum

Small and Medium Enterprise Developers (SMED), the SME arm of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) which was jointly established with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) in 1989 wish to present its monthly high-level policy forum ‘The Key Person’s Forum which is to be held at Hotel Galadari, Colombo on 24 March, 2011 at 12.30 p.m to 2 p.m.

This month’s Key Person’s Forum will be addressed by Dr. Koshi Mathai, Country Representative of International Monetary Fund (IMF) On ‘Prospects for Sri Lanka’s Economy in a New Global Environment’ and moderated by Dr. Anila Bandaranayake, former assistant governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.



The Key Person’s Forum is a monthly event launched with the objective of organising a series of policy dialogues with key personnel in a wide arena of the economy featuring eminent persons who share experiences and policy perspectives at one platform on matters relevant and of interest to the public and private sector. 

The topics include a wide range of areas related to global and local issues that have an impact on areas such as geopolitics, globalisation, economics, international relations and the business and economic development of the country.

The forum is targeted for entrepreneurs, corporate heads, bankers, consultants, educationalists, professionals, public and private sector academics and the general public.  The concept ‘Key Persons’ Forum differs from any other forum that is organised in the country. It provides the opportunity to be interacted with the key policy and decision makers representing the Government of Sri Lanka as well as representatives of the governments of other countries which will in return help the audience to understand the present and future economic landscape of Sri Lanka and also to express their viewpoints on such occasions. 

The guest speaker will deliver a short speech and subsequently the floor will be opened for discussion.
