India Expo kicks off in Colombo tomorrow

An exclusive international exhibition for multi products and services entitled India Expo is being organised by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), supported by the Ministry of Commerce, the Indian Government and the Indian High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, from 11-13 September at the BMICH Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Nearly 50 Indian companies will be part of this exhibition, being organised in Sri Lanka to explore business potential as well as create opportunities to interact and network with prospective buyers during the three days where a diverse range of products are being showcased by them.

India Expo is being supported locally by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), the Ceylon Nation Chamber of Industries and Sri Lanka Chamber of Small and Medium Industries (SICSMI) whose members are expected to visit the event and explore business prospects.

In an effort to expand and collaborate, India Expo will present an interesting array of companies from different parts of India, looking forward to exploring and expanding their base in Sri Lanka, showcasing an interesting range of products and engaging with the Sri Lankan business and trading community.

Speaking about India Expo, FIEO Chairman Dr. A. Sakthivel said: “India Expo at Sri Lanka is a part of our global outreach activity which provides a platform for our members to explore and expand their presence across the globe. Sri Lanka has been an important market for us and enjoys good trade and cultural relations with the country. The participants at India Expo at Colombo will be showcasing products and services matching the needs and prospects of the local market. We are eager to showcase interesting products and services at this expo and are looking forward for a fruitful interaction with local industries.”

FIEO represents the Indian entrepreneurs’ spirit of enterprise in the global market. FIEO is a non-profit organisation set up by the Ministry of Commerce of the India Government in 1965 to co-ordinate and focus efforts of all organisations in the country engaged in export promotion. The federation has evolved into a key player in the promotion of trade, investment and collaboration. FIEO represents the interest of professional Government recognised exporting firms, consultancy firms, service exporters, importers, investors, banks, export management, training institutes, etc.

The event is open between 10.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. on all three days and is open to all. The event is managed by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Ltd. and Showcraft International Ltd. Sri Lanka.
