The first-ever India Sourcing Fair will be held from 8-12 December at the SLECC in Colombo. The event is organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) – Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India and supported by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka.
“This is a timely step by ITPO which is the premier trade promotion agency of the Government of India for organising trade fairs. It has put together a large all Indian participation. The exhibition will showcase well over a 100 Indian suppliers spanning varied industries and cater to the growing demand for Indian goods and the many needs in the Sri Lankan market. This is the first time this fair is being held in Colombo and it is the largest Indian trade exhibition to be held in Sri Lanka,” said India Trade Promotion Organisation General Manager Meera.

India Sourcing Fair is also endorsed by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and The National Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka apart from the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka. The Partner State for the fair is the Odisha State Government.
Exhibitors at India Sourcing Fair will span engineering goods; infrastructure, mining and construction equipment; software and IT; textiles, fabrics and readymade garments; home furnishings and handloom; leather goods; chemicals and pharmaceuticals; handicrafts and jewellery; food and hotel industry products as well as marine products and much more.
Commenting on the importance of the Indian Sourcing Fair 2015, the First Secretary Economic and Commercial of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka Kartik Pande said, “We’re happy to endorse the forthcoming India Sourcing Fair. This is a great opportunity to connect prospective buyers with quality suppliers from India and showcase the standards of Indian products. Colombo is set to be a crucial trade hub over the next years and we are glad to be a part of this journey.”
Meera added that the Indian Sourcing Fair will be a crucial platform for buyers and suppliers. “We are delighted to be in Colombo and bolster trade partnerships,” she said.
This show will no doubt offer the Sri Lankan business community a great opportunity to meet will some of India’s finest suppliers, the show will also host many B2B sessions and meetings and interested parties could get in touch with the local partners MP Events Lanka Ltd. and schedule discussions.
