The Industrial Excellence Awards (IEA) 2014, sponsored by Union Bank of Colombo PLC, is planned for October 2014. The event is an initiative of the Sri Lanka Chamber of Small and Medium Industries (SLCSMI) recognising business excellence of entrepreneurs.
“The awards exemplify how businesses can contribute to the sustainable development of the Country. We are proud to be conducting the Industrial Excellence awards for the eighth consecutive year. The closing date for applications is 31 August and we encourage all small and medium entrepreneurs to make use of this opportunity afforded to them to participate in this programme,” stated Mohideen Cader, President of SLCSMI.
The SLCSMI anticipates an overwhelming response from entrepreneurs across the country at this year’s event. It is a recognition program greatly looked forward to by small and medium industrialists and has been held for eight years previously. Union Bank has come forward as the principal sponsor for the event for the second consecutive year.
The Industrial Excellence Award is given to businesses in recognition of their valuable contribution to the country by acknowledging their achievements. The winners will be adjudged by a panel of representatives from the Board of Investment (BOI), Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA), Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the University Body.
Awards will be presented under the categories of Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. There will also be special provincial awards and a special Union Bank customer award.
