Information bank for economic diplomacy soon: Deputy Minister Harsha

A ‘Knowledge Platform’, an online internet information bank being set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote economic diplomacy, will be launched by the end of the first quarter of 2016, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva.

Deputy Minister de Silva revealed this during the second meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Promotion of Economic Diplomacy, set up to coordinate among various Government agencies and chambers of commerce to push the economic diplomacy agenda by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday.

This Knowledge Platform is being built to provide important and up-to-date information on economic, trade, investment and related information on Sri Lanka to its High Commissions and Embassies in foreign countries and also to obtain country-specific information from the missions abroad.
