Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka to hold 17th Convocation on 30 Oct.

The Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL), the only institute that offers training for the banking sector employees in Sri Lanka with a mandate from the Parliament will host its 17th convocation on 30 October at the BMICH under the patronage of Chief Guest Ajith Nivard Cabraal – Governor of the Central Bank, and Guest of Honour Prof. Colin N. Peiris – Faculty of Agriculture from the University of Peradeniya.



The 17th annual convocation expects a participation of over 2,000 banking and finance professional comprising of top CEOs of banks and other dignitaries in the financial sector according to the Chairman of the IBSL.  This Convocation will confer qualifications and awards on a total of 620 students, who have successfully completed various professional banking and finance courses offered by IBSL. Selected few will be awarded with gold medals for best performing students and cash prizes for outstanding performance. Nine selected members will also be honoured with the Fellowship status. Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Chairman of IBSL Deputy Governor B.D.W.A Silva said: “We aim to achieve excellence in the delivery of professional qualifications and training of the highest order to meet the aspirations of all our stakeholders. As the country’s preeminent IBSL has provided opportunities and upgraded the banking education and training, boosting quality talent and contributing to the financial system stability. The convocation will further reaffirm its significant progress in the training industry.”
