20 of the world’s best MEP, ELV, fire and life safety system manufacturers were introduced last Tuesday at the Intec Expo 2013 held at the Hilton Colombo, which saw a host of foreign representatives pitch their individual products and services to a large number of engineering, construction, architectural and other related professionals and specialists invited.
The event was organised by Intec Systems & Solutions Ltd. in order to familiarise local industry players on the company’s existing portfolio of the latest intelligent technology used worldwide, in response to the current surge in large scale construction and engineering requirements in the country, with a host of major tourism and infrastructure projects already in the pipeline.
Intec, along with its international partners, has already been instrumental in the design, installation and commissioning of systems in several high profile projects across the Middle East. Intec Managing Director Janaka Somananda offered a confident and enthusiastic view of what the company has to offer the Sri Lankan market: “Our mission is to ensure that our clients have state-of-the-art, open, future-proof but yet cost-effective technology solutions which are amply supported by professional technical services imparted through highly skilled and experienced professional teams.”
“We are well aware that Sri Lanka is in an accelerated development phase and infrastructure development has gained immense impetus. There is a palpable need therefore to give this country the tools and avenues to ensure that it is on par or ahead in technology solutions used in such infrastructure development around the world.”
Somananda stated that Intec has recognised a concentrated upward movement in the hospitality, entertainment, education, healthcare, commercial and residential real estate development sectors in the country in the past few years and expects a huge demand for state-of-the-art solutions such as what Intec offers.
He also added that operating in Sri Lanka will also give the company the ideal springboard to explore new markets in the SAARC and South East Asian markets as well.
Combining globally renowned brands such as Siemens, Brand-Rex, Alcatel-Lucent, Lumensense, Mobotix, Safe Fire and Cooper Controls to name a few, into an extensive umbrella of products and services, the company looks to ensure that its customers have an integrated and expansive portfolio of MEP systems, IT/telecom, audio/visual and fire life safety systems and solutions to choose from.
This would mean that a prospective client involved in a large scale building project would be able to choose the ideal pumps, cooling towers, ventilation systems, earthing and lightning protection, the world’s best lighting systems, intelligent building management systems and wiring through its MEP systems, while the required structured cabling, converged networks, wireless networks, CCTV, access control and intercom systems from among its IT/Telecom solutions offerings.
The audio/visual options also present a host of options for the hospitality and entertainment industries such as digital signage, AV systems for ballrooms and entertainment venues and also includes the latest guest management systems, while the imperatives of fire safety is well focused upon with internationally standardised and accredited fire detection, protection and alarm systems as well as centralised emergency lighting systems on offer.
Somananda went on to state: “From building automation systems to intelligent energy management and environmentally friendly options to ensuring that professional technical input is guaranteed, our idea of bringing all these partners under a single umbrella as a one stop solution also added the dimension of our solutions being cost effective and infuses the facet of reducing carbon footprints; we can deliver on every aspect of a building services requirement.”
In conclusion, he added that Intec’s unparalleled value proposition safeguards customer investments through custom engineered least cost solutions focused on sustainability and backed by a strong emphasis on after sales and maintenance services.
