Intertek opens apparel and textiles testing lab today in SL

Intertek the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide is all set to open a new apparel and textiles testing laboratory in Bataramulla to support the growing textile and garment industry in Sri Lanka.
In Sri Lanka for the launch will be Intertek Plc CFO/Intertek South Asia COO Lloyd Pitchford and Intertek South Asia Regional Managing Director Rajesh Saigal.
Pitchford was appointed to the Board as Chief Financial Officer in April 2010. He had previously spent 11 years with BG Group plc in various operational and corporate finance roles in the UK and Middle East; the last five of which were as Group Financial Controller. He started his career with Mobil Oil Corporation, where he held various financial, commercial and management roles in the UK over seven years.
Lloyd is a Chartered Management Accountant and holds an MBA from Herriott Watt University.
Saigal has over 25 years of global exposure, spent majorly working with Fortune 500 Organisations. An Engineer (Mechanical ) and Management (Marketing and Finance ) professional from top universities in India; a seasoned player in Corporate Planning, Strategy, Operations, Business Development, Finance, Start Up Operations, Mergers and Acquisitions, Rajesh specialises in Business Consolidations, New Businesses Planning, Laying of Processes, Monitoring and Reviewing.
The chief guest at the opening will be Minister of Investment Promotion Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena. Intertek Lanka is a joint venture between Intertek Overseas Holding Limited of UK and MMBL-pathfinder Group of Companies of Sri Lanka.
