The IPS, Sri Lanka’s premier economic policy think-tank, is continuously looking to reach out to diverse stakeholders and take its insights on socioeconomic development issues to broader audiences. As part of this effort, the IPS has engaged with University students and academics from across the country over the years.

Continuing this engagement, the IPS will hold a workshop and interactive dialogue: ‘IPS University Forum’ during 21 to 23 March, for the country’s leading economists, development experts and University lecturers and undergraduates on contemporary socioeconomic development challenges in Sri Lanka.

This first IPS University Forum will bring together lecturers and students from Universities across the country, representing various socioeconomic disciplines.  The event will provide an opportunity for the participants to learn, share, collaborate and network with experts in the fields of socioeconomic development. It will provide a platform to better understanding of contemporary socioeconomic development challenges in Sri  Lanka and their policy relevance, opportunity to share  perspectives on these challenges with experts in the field, greater collaboration among the Universities and between Universities and IPS, access to IPS economists from a wide array of fields, mentoring by IPS researchers on future projects, dissertations, opportunity to learn about new media tools for research, and opportunities for internships. The event will take place at the IPS premises.
