ISMM seminar on ‘Greening Supply Chains’ on Friday

The Alumni Association of The Institute of Supply and Materials Management, through the Knowledge Forum Committee, has organised a seminar on ‘Green Supply Chains’ at the OPA Auditorium, Prof. Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha, Colombo 7 on Friday 10 July at 5:30 p.m.

The Resource Person is Gayani de Alwis, former Director, Customer Services of Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd. She holds a MBA from the Post Graduate Institute of Management (PIM) and also an MSc in Food Process Engineering from the University of Reading, UK. She is a Certified Supply Chain Manager from ISCEA, USA. Gayani is the founding Chairperson of Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLT). 

She is a Fellow and a Vice President of the Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), a Chartered Member and Vice Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. She is a Visiting Lecturer for many MBA and MSc degree programs of universities.

The members of the Alumni Association of the ISMM participate in free lectures organised by the ISMM offered by the eminent personalities in the stores and supply chain and other related fields from time to time. They are also entitled to attend valuable workshops and seminars conducted by the ISMM at discounted rate.

The members of the Alumni Association are also eligible to obtain membership of the ISMM and the OPA. Hence they get the opportunity to participate local and international conferences and thereby get exposed to the experts in these fields globally. They also could become the members of the Toastmaster Club and participate in the annual get-togethers and support and help social projects and events.

The Alumni Association of the ISMM also acts as a catalyst to its members to enjoy fellowship and socialise with colleagues and offer opportunities to contribute their efforts to the ISMM to move forward.

The recently re-vamped library of the ISMM will be more beneficial to these members for their references and data collection, etc.

The members of the Alumni Association of the ISMM and the past students are invited and expected to attend this seminar and reap the benefits of this Association.
