Sumitomo Corporation would like to contribute to the power development in Sri Lanka.
Sumitomo is willing to invest in power generation and distribution, the technical and engineering knowhow it requires and the necessary financial support, according to Sumitomo Corporation India Ltd. Senior General Manager Yusuhiko Siromawa.
He said this when he met Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa when he met at the Ministry Office on 24 October.
Sumitomo is planning to assist in the first, second and third phase of the coal power plant project now under construction in Trincomalee and to build a new thermal power plant.
