JASTECA makes major breakthrough at SAFAAS Convention in India

Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) President Athulla Edirisinghe was unanimously elected as the President of South Asian Federation of AOTS/HIDA  Alumni Societies and Mangala Samaraweera and Nihal Seneviratne were appointed Secretary General and the Honorary Treasurer respectively at the 11th SAFAAS convention held in Cochin, Kerala, India, recently.  

SAFAAS member countries include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Iran and Sri Lanka. JASETCA was also accorded the honour of hosting the 12th SAFAAS International Convention in 2017 in Sri Lanka where over 300 delegates from the member countries and Japan will participate.

Under the theme of ‘Opportunities in the Digital World’, creating avenues for international trade and investment among SAFAAS member countries and Japan as well as finding ways to penetrate over 4000 Japanese companies operating in India were the main topics discussed at the convention.
