Joshua Gladstein and Sophie Nathan, a British couple were warmly welcomed as Sri Lanka’s one millionth tourist for this year – an indicator that the target of 1.5 million visitors for the year is more than achievable. The couple was welcomed at the airport by members of the travel and tourism industry, and stayed their first night in the country at Jetwing Sea, Negombo. Formerly known as the Seashells Hotel, Jetwing Sea was initially constructed by the founder of Jetwing, Herbert Cooray. After a massive renovation and investment, the resort was unveiled as Jetwing Sea with 83 rooms, a specialised seafood restaurant, and a rooftop spa and gym. Jetwing Sea is also exclusively marketed and sold in the UK by renowned travel operator, Kuoni.                     “We were more than happy to welcome Mr. Gladstein and Ms. Nathan to Jetwing Sea, and to have them witness traditional Sri Lankan hospitality,” said Resident Manager R. Bandara. “From all of us here at Jetwing, we wish them both the best stay possible and that they continue to visit Sri Lanka,” he continued. Family owned and in the tourism industry for the past 41 years, Jetwing Hotels has surpassed expectation at every aspect.
