John Keells Hotels ups pre-tax profit by 48%

John Keells Hotels PLC yesterday released its Interim Results for the fourth quarter and 12 months ended 31 March 2014. For the financial year 2013/14, revenue was Rs. 10.97 billion, this being an increase of 17% over the revenue of Rs. 9.34 billion recorded in the previous financial year. Group profit before tax (PBT) was Rs. 1.89 billion, this being a 48% increase over the PBT of Rs. 1.28 billion recorded in the previous financial year. The profit attributable to the equity holders of the parent was Rs.1.57 billion, a 40% increase over the Rs. 1.12 billion reported in the previous financial year. The Sri Lankan Resorts sector reported revenue of Rs. 4.88 billion, representing a growth of 27% over the previous financial year [2012/13: Rs. 3.83 billion]. The Maldivian Resorts sector reported revenue of Rs. 6.09 billion, representing a growth of 10% over the previous financial year [2012/13: Rs. 5.51 billion].
