Diri Saviya Foundation Chairman and Founder Asanga Abeyagoonasekera has partnered with World Entrepreneurship Forum Executive Chairman Tugrul Atamer to establish the Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum (JWEF) in Sri Lanka. The JWE is an initiative derived from the World Entrepreneurship Forum, is a global youth movement devoted to putting forward the views of young people as part of the global debate on entrepreneurship. The JWEF Chapter in Sri Lanka will provide a unique platform for young Sri Lankan entrepreneurs to be a part of this global forum. It opens up to them a rare opportunity to share their stories and achievements, and to be a part of a global family young achievers. JWEF is a learning opportunity for the young and upcoming entrepreneurs to develop their skills. Those wishing to be part of the JWEF Sri Lanka should be between the age of 18 and 30 and must be an entrepreneur or social entrepreneur who has fledged a successful startup. They must provide a write-up detailing their achievements and how they would contribute to the Sri Lankan Chapter of JWEF. Applications can be sent to [email protected] with ‘Junior WEF Application’ in the subject line. In 2008, the World Entrepreneurship Forum was created by EMLYON Business School and KPMG France with one main belief: faced with the key disruptive changes challenging our world, entrepreneurship can create both wealth and social justice and is therefore crucial  for shaping the world of 2050. What makes the World Entrepreneurship Forum unique is the fact that it brings all the key stakeholders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem together: entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, politicians, service providers, experts, academics and investors, all chosen for their entrepreneurial impact and commitment to society. Diri Saviya Foundation is a non-governmental, not-for-profit foundation, founded in memory of the late Ossie Abeyagoonasekara. Its vision is to create a harmonious society with dignity and it focuses on empowering individual citizens with the right tools. In 2012 World Entrepreneurship Forum nominated Asanga Abeyagoonasekera as a member of the Forum.
