Kelani Cables PLC held a dealer convention for its Northern region dealers who do a persistent service. The event graced by Kelani Cables PLC Director/CEO Mahinda Saranapala was held at the Thal Sevana holiday Resorts, Kankasanturei. Over 100 dealers from Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Mulativu districts participated at the event.

Senior management from Kelani Cables at the event were; Anil Munasinghe, (General Manager Marketing), Channa Jayasinghe, (Brand Development Manager), Rohana Wadduwage, (Sales Manager – Power and Electricity), Ralph Roshan (Sales Controller), Chaminda Waidyathilake, (Sales Manager), Ajantha Yainna (Sales Manager – Kelani Lightings), and S. Seelan (Area Sales manager in Jaffna).

Mahinda Saranapala, the Chief Guest said, his company has come to a region that is undergoing a steady revival process after decades.

“Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Mulativu being the pioneering districts in the northern reawakening drive must have enormous information in regard to safety of the Northern people to share with our dealers who engage in business in these areas. It is a privilege to have a cordial meeting with these dealers at a forum like this, who work with responsibility to market Kelani Cables products that guarantee quality of construction. I wish them good luck,” said the CEO.

Yet another significance of the event was offering scholarships to two grade five students whose fathers are members of ‘Kelani Visura’ electrical technicians’ society. The two scholarships were granted to G.W. Hilmon and Mithuja Premadas, children of T. George and A. Premadas.

General Manager, Marketing Anil Munasinghe, expressing his views said, “I pay my gratitude to dealers in the North who have added Kelani Cables brand to their supplier companies’ directory. That is sheer evidence, credibility of Kelani Cables as Sri Lanka’s number one brand in secure electrical and communication cables is endorsed by Northern people.”

He further stated, “We have a close rapport with sales agents throughout the country. Now we have got the opportunity to build the same rapport with dealers in the North. Although their faces are new to us we extend hands of friendship and invite them to get into the bandwagon. Above business, we want to nurture brotherhood with them.”

Brand Development Manager Channa Jayasinghe, who dedicated himself to organise the Kelani Cables Northern dealers convention said, he was offered with much support by the people concerned in the Northern area.

“This event was organised in an area far away from Colombo. Yet, dealers in the North with Brigadier Dhamitha Ranasinghe, CEO, Thal Sevana Resorts, Lieutenant, Bhagya Wickramasinghe, Front Office Manageress and the manager, Captain Saman Ekanayake extended their fullest corporation. The reputation and credibility of the Kelani Cables brand was key to this support extended,” said Jayasinghe.

Kelani Cables PLC is a one hundred percent Sri Lankan company serving the nation for 46 years manufacturing electrical and communication cables.
