Kelani Cables PLC has been organising ‘Kelani Wisura’ technical workshops for the benefit of local electricians, which could be identified as a golden opportunity. The workshops are held as a monthly event islandwide and have now surpassed participation of 15,000.

This landmark figure was achieved at the workshop held in Monaragala, which focused on teaching new techniques and methods in wire laying

At these ‘Kelani Wisura’ electricians’ club workshops, the participants are given a lecture conducted by a veteran charted electrical engineer. This lecture emphasises on how to select suitable wires of plug points with respect to distance, switches, and lamps. The practical issues which arise in laying wires in an electrical system is also taught.

All electricians participating at these workshops held at comfortable hotels with all inclusive food and beverages are awarded with a certificate and valuable gift pack. Kelani Cables PLC ensures that all electricians participating will have the proper knowhow of drawing and installing a domestic electrical diagram by the end of these workshops.

At the ‘Kelani Wisura’ electricians’ club workshop held in Monaragala, which surpassed the landmark figure of 15,000 participants, Channa Jayasinghe, Brand Development Manager, Kelani Cables PLC, stated: “We are very pleased as a responsible corporate citizen to see ‘Kelani Wisura’ workshops moving forward from strength to strength. This was initiated in giving out state-of-the-art knowledge and techniques to the electricians islandwide, as a CSR project. We also provide cash support to all members children whom have passed the Grade 5 scholarship, which will run up to the child entering university.
