Kirkoswald sets all time record: PEK1 grade

At the Colombo weekly tea auctions concluded on 13 March 2013, a Pekoe1 grade of Kirkoswald Estate established an all time record price of Rs. 1,200 per kg, for a line of light liquoring PEKOE1 grade.



This was a significant and commendable improvement of a record of Rs. 780 established by them at the weekly auction on 22 August 2012 for the same grade.

Kirkoswald Estate owned by Madulsima Plantations and managed by Stassen Group, is reputed for consistently producing quality light liquoring PEKOE/FBOP grades which are recognised and sought after by connoisseurs of tea world over. The line of Tea was purchased by St. Clair Teas Limited and auctioned by Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers Limited.
