KPMG announces new Partners

KPMG’s local member firm in Sri Lanka yesterday announced that Thamali N. Rodrigo has been admitted as a Partner of the firm with effect from 1 April 2013.

Thamali joined KPMG Sri Lanka in 1998 and had served in a number of roles and positions, most recently as the Director – Audit of the firm. She counts over 14 years of experience in audit and related service areas.

Thamali is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Post Graduate Institute of Management of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

The firm also announced that Mohamed Nayeem Mohamed Shameel has been appointed as a Partner of the KPMG practice in the Republic of Maldives with effect from 1 April 2013.

Prior to his appointment as a Partner, Shameel served, most recently, as the Resident Director of KPMG in the Maldives and previously held a number of positions with the Middle East and Sri Lanka offices of KPMG. Shameel counts over 12 years of audit and tax experience and was formerly the Head of Training for the Qatar practice of KPMG.

He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and a Senior Member of the CPA Maldives.
