KPMG in Sri Lanka was ranked 1st in THE LMD 100 Auditors League for the financial year 2012/13, auditing 40 of the LMD 100 companies as indicated in THE LMD 100, a listing of Sri Lanka’s leading listed companies by the independent publisher, Media Services. This achievement marks the 8th consecutive occasion the firm has topped the rankings published by the LMD magazine. The firm also held the lead position in the LMD 100 Auditors League for the year 2011/12 and was ranked first in THE LMD 50 Auditors League, a previous index by publishers Media Services, for six consecutive years since the financial year 2005/06. Commenting on the achievement, KPMG Managing Partner Reyaz Mihular stated: “It is an honour for KPMG in Sri Lanka to be recognised in this lead position once again. Auditors of public companies play a pivotal role in the efficient functioning of the capital markets, and indexes of this nature motivate external audit firms to strive towards continuous improvement.” The firm’s Head of Audit Suren Rajakarier, stated: “It is great that LMD publishes the Auditors League also as part of the LMD 100 because of the public interest value of audits. The auditor plays an important part in giving comfort to stakeholders who are looking at measures of value in order to drive shareholder value. “KPMG strives to be responsive to the dynamic environment that we are living in.  Therefore, KPMG being the trusted service provider to a majority of these leading companies is an indication of the trust placed in us by our clients and our ability to cut through complexity and provide value through quality audits. We are thankful to all our stakeholders for contributing towards this achievement.”
