Kramski Lanka Ltd., a BOI-approved premier German business venture in the Katunayake Exports Processing Zone will celebrate its 20th anniversary today on Friday, 27 September 2013 with an expansion of its production capacity at an investment outlay of Rs. 300 million. Investment promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena will inaugurate the anniversary celebrations by opening the newly built factory building and commissioning the production operations in the new extension. German Ambassador Dr. Jurgen Mohard too will participate as special guest. A subsidiary of Kramski GmbH, one of the premier names in the global tools manufacturing sector with headquarters in Piorzheim, Germany, Kramski Lanka was founded in 1993 to produce high precision components for stamping dies and moulds for the European market.  Since 1999, Kramski Lanka has been building moulds and running overmoulding production for customers in Europe, North America and Asia. The company delivers components/spare parts of the highest quality to customers the world over. Among its main exports are plastic overmoulded electrical and electronic components, injection moulds, stamping tools, dies and punches, bushings, golf putters and golf related products. Also the company provides quality inspection services for electrical and electronic components and hardening facilities for metal parts. The production capacity due to be expanded  with the operation of the new wing will generate approximately 100 additional employment  opportunities in the field of moulding and tooling accounting for a 40% increase in the current workforce, said Kramski Lanka General Manager  Nilantha Edirisinghe. Kramski Lanka has been bringing foreign exchange to the country since 1994 with a constant annual growth. The total investment the company has made so far adds up to $ 13 million. The company’s projected earnings from its exports for the current year is $ 10 million, 10% up from last year’s revenue. Commenting on the factors that have contributed towards Kramski Lanka’s phenomenal success, General Manager Edirisinghe said: “The success we have achieved so far is the cumulative effect of the play of a host of contributing factors. However, I wish to refer to the main factors only. The first and foremost is  the invaluable guidance we have been receiving  from the founder of the company Wiestaw Kramski and  the directors  of the parent facility in Piorzheim in Germany. The cooperation we have been receiving from government authorities here including the BOI deserves special mention. The commitment of our staffers holding managerial and supervisory positions and the workforce in general too has been a great source of strength.” Edirisinghe added: “As a team we have been consistently striving to achieve the Kramski goal of `perfectionism’ and uphold the Kramski principle `There are no compromises in quality, ever.’”
