Kushani joins Mercantile Produce Brokers

Kushani Daluwatta has been appointed as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer at Mercantile Produce Brokers Ltd., owned by investor Nimal Perera.

She was previously employed at John Keells Plc as the second female tea auctioneer in Sri Lanka.

Daluwatta commenced her career at John Keells as a tea taster and tea auctioneer from 2000-2016. She assumed her new role yesterday after working for 16 years in the corporate sector.

She was a Prefect and House Captain at Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo and excelled in sports.

Daluwatta became a national squash champion in 2001 and 2002 and captained the Sri Lanka squash team for several years. She won a silver and bronze medal at the SAF Games in the squash team championships held in Colombo and Pakistan. She represented Sri Lanka at the Asian Games in Busan in 2002 as a top-ranked player and represented the country at several other Asian tournaments.
