Marking a milestone in Executive Education in Sri Lanka, the first-ever LAHES-NUS General Management Development Programme was held recently at the LAHES campus at the World Trade Centre, Colombo 1. The four day programme had 41 participants representing 19 different organizations.

The program covered four important subject areas - Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Finance and Corporate Leadership. The participants had the opportunity to take part in the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI), a leading thinking styles assessment tool, as a part of the programme.

The program was designed and delivered by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School faculty members; namely, Dr. Chung Yuen Kay (Programme Director and facilitator of Corporate Leadership), Dr. Ravi Jain (Corporate Finance), Dr. Cheng Peng Sim (Marketing) and Dr. Nitin Pangarkar (Corporate Strategy).

Commenting on the programme, Dr. Chung Yuen Kay, Programme Director stated, “The LAHES-NUS Management Development Program has been successful in attracting a good mix of senior managers from a broad spectrum of industries, bringing with them many years of experience. There was lively interaction between the participants and NUS faculty, creating a vibrant learning environment which enabled the synthesis of insights and knowledge for real-life application.”

The local partner for the programme was LAHES, the Education arm of LAUGFS Group. LAHES has a series of NUS Business School programmes lined up, to be introduced in Sri Lanka.  “We are very pleased with the outcome of our first programme with the NUS Business School. We look forward to having a variety of customised programmes that will benefit the public as well as the private sector employees. Our partnership is a personification of our commitment to bringing the best, global education services to Sri Lanka, in order to develop our human capital which in turn will lead to organizational success,” stated Vindhya Weeratunga, Adjunct Associate Professor, Director/Chief Executive Officer – LAHES.
