Lanka Special Steels clinches 1 Gold, 2 Silvers at ICQCC 2014

Lanka Special Steels Ltd., a subsidiary of Tata Steel Ltd., won one gold and two silver awards at the International Convention on Quality Control Circle (ICQCC 2014), held in Sri Lanka from 12-14 October at the BMICH.
Three teams from the organisation participated in the convention and represented Sri Lanka. A total of 217 teams participated in the convention from 14 countries.
As a representative of Sri Lanka, Lanka Special Steels‘ team Target won a gold award while team Awanetha and team Shakthi won silver awards with their effective presentation and teamwork.
Team Coordinator Madhusanka said that all team members learnt about quality tools and used them effectively for improvement projects in their respective department and showed considerable improvements.
The management’s continuous encouragement and support for motivation helped company associates to learn and implement process improvements in productivity, safety, quality etc.
