LAUGFS Gas bags third top national award in three months with Annual Report Gold

LAUGFS Gas PLC has won a Gold Award for its Annual Report 2013 at the 49th Annual Report Awards competition organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka). This is the third national award received by the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) giant during the past four months which is a testament to the remarkable growth and expansion it has achieved over the past few years. The company clinched a Gold award at the National Business Excellence Awards 2013 (NBEA) last month, which was preceded by winning one of the coveted Top Ten National Award at the Achiever Awards 2013 for Industrial and Service Excellence in September. The latest award was received for the Annual Report titled ‘The story of a great Sri Lankan company’ at the grand awards ceremony held last week. This year’s edition was highly competitive with a total of 126 companies having registered for the competition, the highest number of registrations since the inception of this scheme. This Gold Award is a clear endorsement of the exemplary reporting policies of LAUGFS Gas which have created a culture of absolute transparency, accountability and good corporate governance as a the listed company. The operations of Laugfs Gas PLC commenced in 2001 as an indigenous national enterprise taking head on a multinational giant and today it stands as a true giant in the energy sector of our economy.
