LAUGFS invest Rs.45 m on new bottle water plant

LAUGFS Aqua Systems  private Limited a subsidiary of the LAUGFS Supermarkets Limited engaged in water bottling and distribution bottle waterunder‘LAUGFS  Aqua’ brand laid foundation stone to buildultra-modernautomatedwater bottling plant at KottawaborderingPadukka  yesterday . Accordingly LAUGFS will invest Rs.45 million for the new project which would increase the company’s production capacityto meet the increasing demand.

LAUGFS Holdings Limited Chairman W.K.H. Wegapitiya said that ‘LAUGFS Aqua’ having enteredinto the  bottle water segment ten years ago and having identified the new economic prosperity in the countrydecided to expand its  operations inorder to become leader in the bottle water sector in the country.

“This new bottling plant would fulfill our supply demand and we are hoping to commence theoperation of the new plantwithin three months. After commencement of the operations of the plantwe wouldbe in a better positionto promote our product across the island with new a distribution and retail network,” he said.
