Launch of Architect 2015

The felicitation of stall holders of Architect 2014 was held in Hotel Galadari on 30 July 2014. Main Sponsors of last year’s events were specially recognised at this event. Architect 2015 was ceremonially launched at this occasion where a large number of participants from the construction trade were present. President of SLIA Archt. (Prof) Chitra Weddikkara and Vice President, Chairman of Exhibition Committee Archt. D.H. Wijewardena, along with other officials graced the occasion.

Architect 2015 will be inaugurated on 17 February 2015 followed up by National Congress on 18 February 2015. The Inaugural opening of the Exhibition will take place on 18 February and will be open for public for four days from 19 – 22 February 2015 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Detailed Stall Layout will be presented with many new items having included to be more user friendly. Architect 2015 will have 292 stalls and 150 display panels of work done by Architects during last year. There will be special invitation for school children so that one day of the exhibition will be dedicated for them. Awards will be given to best Stall Holder and for the best display panel. Presentations will be done at the annual get together of architects which should be a very colourful event. With all these new additions Architect 2015 is expected to be tremendous success and it will display progress of the Construction Industry that is happening in the country after 30 years of civil war.

In Architect 2014, there were 178 companies occupying 294 stalls and exhibiting different kind of products that are used in building industry. During these four days more than 40,000 interested individuals visited the exhibition and stall holders were very much contended that each stall was a crowd puller and with the enthusiasms shown by visitors and the level of new business opportunities created by their participation in this mega exhibition. Architect 2015 ground work begins with the launching of the new website on 30 July 2014 at Hotel Galadari Grand Ballroom from 6:30 p.m. onwards. All Stall Holders of last year are invited and special awards of token of appreciation will be presented to honour the key Sponsors of SLIA events during year 2014. Stall Layout are improved for the Architect 2015 with provisions to provide more exposure to stall displays and easy circulation.
