Leema Creations secures two awards of excellence

Leema Creations Ltd., the leading interior solution provider in Sri Lanka collected two more awards,  a National Merit Award  at CNCI Achiever Of the Year in the Medium Category and a National Merit Award at  Best Web 2013 competition in the Best Consumer and E-Commerce Website Category. Leema Creations Managing Director Channa Wijesekara accepted the honour at the CNCI Ceremony while Shamika Wijesekara received the Best Web 2013. Leema Creations was recognised by the CNCI Awards due to its providing custom built service levels and a breadth of products to personalise the design experience for its clients. Based in Colombo with the manufacturing plant in Dompe, Leema executes projects from concept to completion and all areas in between. Blending aesthetics and personal taste with function, Leema can provide any client with a space that fulfils their needs and appeals to individual style. Currently, Leema Creations caters to a most elite clientele in Sri Lanka including many Blue Chip Companies. The award winning, newly redesigned Leema Creations website was created with a view to extending the reach of all its interior creations by serving a broader audience of commercial and domestic prospective clients. It features expanded content and streaming media including images of recently completed commercial projects in a permanent collection. The redesign incorporates bold colours and graphics and completely new navigational tools. In addition to the images of various interiors, the new Web site offers all information related to the designs the company has executed. This year’s competition was contested by nearly 300 popular websites. The judging criteria included the website design, its technical aspects, the content, interaction facilities as well as some marks for votes by visitors. The 50,000 square Leema Creations manufacturing plant located at Dompe is counted as one of the main contributing factor for the company’s awards. The plant is one of the most advanced in Sri Lanka and combination of computerised equipment and fine craftsmanship ensures exact execution of the detailed projects. Leema’s highly trained and skilled production team work with state-of-the-art equipment and a host of other standard tools. Channa Wijesekara is an incorporated civil engineer passed out from University of Moratuwa. He has written two books on ‘Basic Wood Technology’ in Sinhala and English, published by SMED, the umbrella organisation of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Wijesekara became a qualified wood technologist after successfully completing a two-year fulltime Technical Teachers Certificate in Wood Technology in Germany. He also has completed a Diploma in Education Administration from Landau University in Germany and subsequently trained at the Colombo Plan Staff College and Dual Tech, Manila, Philipines in Industry Vocational Training Cooperation and also participated in basic and moderators programs in Objective Oriented Project Planning in Thailand. He has worked as a wood working consultant for number of firms and also worked as a curriculum writer for wood related trades for World University Services, Canada, National Institute of Education, NAITA etc. He was a Lecturer at Moratuwa University on Wood Technology for BSc Furniture Design degree and MSc in Forestry program at the University of Sri Jayawardanapura.
