Leema Creations wins National Gold Award again at ‘Entrepreneur of the Year 2016’

Leema Creations Ltd., the most sought after ‘Interior Specialist’ in Sri Lanka had been honoured with the National Gold Award for Large Category Segment at prominent and influential ‘Entrepreneur of the Year 2016’, yearly ceremony organised by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industries in Sri Lanka (FCCISL). In addition, the company also bagged the Provincial Gold Medal for Large Category at the ceremony. This is the second consecutive year the company won the National Gold Award. 

Leema Creations has won awards previously for five years consecutively since 2010. Managing Director Channa Wijesekara and Director/CEO Shamika Wijesekara of Leema Creations accepted the honour at the ceremony held at Stein Studio Complex recently.

Operating under the standards of ISO 9001:2008 certification and the guidelines, Leema market visibility has been growing steadily since inception. During the past year, many a modern machinery was introduced to the manufacturing plant in order to enhance the production capacity. The design and project teams were further strengthened to facilitate the ever increasing work volume and client demand. 

The existing 60,000 square foot manufacturing Plant of Leema Creations is located at Dompe is one of the main contributing factors for winning awards. The area of operation of the plant is scheduled to be increased by a further 10,000 sq. ft. by end of the year. The factory is one of the most advanced in Sri Lanka with a combination of computerised equipment and fine craftsmanship ensures exact execution of the detailed projects. Leema’s highly trained and skilled production team works with state-of-the-art equipment and a host of other standard tools. Competently guided by the industry veteran, Founder Managing Director Channa Wijesekara and the vibrant and capable Director/CEO Shamika Wijesekara, Leema continues to be the force to be reckoned with in the interior and furniture market. An incorporated civil engineer from the University of Moratuwa, Channa Wijesekara has obtained two-year training as a technical teacher in wood sector in Germany and he is presently the Chairman of advisory Council to the Ministry of Commerce and Industries on wood based products.
