LIC of India Chairman S.K. Roy visits Sri Lanka

LIC of India and LIC (Lanka) Ltd. Chairman S.K. Roy will arrive in Sri Lanka, today, (20) to chair the board meeting of LIC Lanka Ltd. During his visit he will also be having an interactive session with leading insurance brokers, members of the Indian CEO Forum, the India-Sri Lanka Society, top performers of the company and other distinguished guests. Roy took charge as Chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India on 29 June 2013. He joined LIC of India in 1981 as a direct recruit officer. He holds a postgraduate in English Literature as well as law for which he holds a Ph.D. He has served LIC of India in prominent positions such as legal, estate, P&IR and marketing (bancassurance and alternate channels). He was Zonal Manager In charge of North Central Zone and Eastern Zone. He also handled international operations of the corporation before taking over charge as Managing Director on 30 May 2013. He is an avid reader with special interest in marketing management and human resources development and is also a lover of sports. LIC Lanka is a joint venture between Life Insurance Corporation of India, the biggest Life Insurance Company in the world with more than 300 million policyholders and Bartleet Group which is a century old giant financial service providers in Sri Lanka. LIC Lanka Ltd. has 28 branches spread across the island.
