The London Stanfords College was launched last Friday at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo, promising to provide Sri Lankan students with a truly international learning experience with a selection of UK and Canadian accredited qualifications at its brand new modern teaching facility on Galle Road, Colombo 3.

The college, an international partnership incorporating the combined resources of Stanfords College UK, Essex College, and The College of the North Atlantic in Canada, will look to draw on the established reputations of all three institutions within its curriculum. The partnership has over 80 years of combined experience in delivering quality education to international students and at present enrolls approximately 25,000 students annually into over 400 full and part time courses.

All courses being offered are internationally recognised and will provide students the added advantage of the choice of completing their chosen courses either in the UK or Canada, with well established MBA and MSc progression to a wide variety of renowned UK and Canadian Universities. Cambridge University accredited English language courses will also be on offer to students alongside their core subjects, in order to maintain a high English language proficiency level.

The modern, newly refurbished college building with high tech lecture rooms and IT suites will allow London Stanfords College students to study a range of courses in a safe and intellectually challenging environment, keeping in line with the college’s mission statement to: ‘Provide affordable, quality education aimed at supporting the Government’s vision of increasing the percentage of local students with access to quality higher education and to furnish the local industry with the home grown talent needed to further develop Sri Lankan international commerce’.

In addition, the college looks to establishing strong working partnerships with the local industry and other stakeholders to serve the interests of the students and build up the college’s reputation as a global educational institute of excellence.
