The appointment of the distributor network comes as a solution to cater to the demand generated for Colleen products throughout the country. The products will also be available through major supermarkets, bookshops and retail outlets across the country.
M.D. Gunasena was appointed as the sole agent for Colleen, the innovative manufacturer of colour products last year. Through the partnership M.D. Gunasena introduced a gamut of new colour pencils ranging from six to 60 pencil sets, comprising single tip and double tip (twin head colour pencils) variants and a water colour pencil for the first time in Sri Lanka. High quality pastels, crayons, pencils and erasers are also available under the Colleen brand.

Established in 1989, the Colleen factory is located in the area of Bangplee industrial estate km from Bangkok. The company specialises in pencil manufacturing, including high quality coloured pencils, fancy pencils and drawing pencils. A total 60 million pencils are manufactured by Colleen Thailand annually, predominantly exporting to South East Asian and European markets.
M.D. Gunasena since its incorporation in 1913 has become synonymous with education in Sri Lanka with 17 outlets islandwide. For more than a century, the company remains at the forefront of the publishing industry and literature in Sri Lanka.
