Recognising its unstinted contribution towards the Sri Lankan export economy, MAS Intimates was awarded four Export Awards at the 21st Presidential Export Awards ceremony held recently, under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
MAS Intimates won special awards for Sri Lankan Exporter of the Year, Highest Employment Provider of the Year in the Export Industry, Highest Net Foreign Exchange Earner and Best Exporter in the Apparel Sector for year 2011.The gala event was organised by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) to recognise export performances from 2010-2013.
The selection criterion was based on company contributions made towards the country’s overall export earnings, product development, market development, and social development. The award recipients were selected by a panel comprising private and public sector representatives chaired by retired Supreme Court Judge Hector Yapa.
The Presidential Export Awards (PEA) was introduced by Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB) in 1981 to recognise the contributions made by the export community towards national development. The award winners represent excellence in export business, particularly in non-traditional products and services.
