MAS powers South Asian Fashion Week launch with SLDF

MAS Holdings, the visionary apparel and fashion manufacturer has stepped up to take the challenge to drive Sri Lanka as the nexus for South Asian fashion with a global appeal by joining hands with the Sri Lanka Design Festival (SLDF).
The SLDF that has grown in the last five years to be a national agenda event with key apparel and government export partners driving the proposition of design as the next big industry for Sri Lanka. Given the momentum that SLDF has garnered in Sri Lanka by this 2013 edition, the event took the high ground of launching the South Asian Edition which is a runner up to the most significant event in the country of CHOGM.
Given this background of Sri Lanka moving to be a country that fosters design excellence, the billion dollar blue chip MAS Holdings has ventured out to support SLDF by powering the staging of the South Asian Fashion Week. The event scheduled for 2014 along the lines of the London and Paris Fashion Weeks that are multi-billion dollar brands in today’s world of trade and economics, South Asian Fashion Week validates Sri Lanka’s potential to be the global player from the region.
With South Asian Fashion Week, Sri Lanka steps up to become the nucleus for contemporary South Asian Fashion with international appeal while providing a platform for all cutting-edge fashion designers in South Asia and a place for global customers from Europe and USA to fashion consumers of East Asia to emerging markets.
South Asian Fashion Week promises to present a unique showcase of the most sophisticated fashion from the region upon its premiere in 2014 and will be launched at SLDF 2013 this October.
MAS Holdings, an organisation built on innovation with the philosophy that ‘Change is Courage’ believes that innovation is what makes the necessary changes to create the future. SLDF shares the same view and this is the reason MAS has come in as the principal sponsor for SLDF’s ground-breaking 5th year South Asian edition.

The South Asian Fashion week will come under the banner of SLDF and it will play a crucial role in taking Sri Lankan fashion and apparel industry’s development to the next stage of development.
