Amana Takaful PLC recently entered in to a partnership with the Northern Central Hospital to offer insurance services to patients seeking treatment in the hospital based in Jaffna. The MoU to this effect was signed by Amana Takaful PLC CEO Fazal Ghaffoor and Northern Central Hospital Founder Chairman S.P. Samy, in the presence of senior officials of both organisations. In 2013 Amana Takaful a composite insurer and the pioneer of the Takaful way of insurance in Sri Lanka launched KruthaGuna a hospitalisation insurance cover for parents and elders above the age of 55 years, which is reported to be the first-ever medical cover offered for senior citizens of Sri Lanka. People of the North will now benefit from a tailor made solution to them ‘Sei Nandri’ which will be exclusively available to them through the Northern Central Hospital in Jaffna. Commenting on the partnership, Amana Takaful CEO Fazal Ghaffoor stated: “We recognise the ever increasing ageing population of Sri Lanka and the resulting pressure on the social security net. This aspect will be a challenge for people at retirement. With today’s fast paced society and the varying priorities, many of us tend to neglect the obligations towards our beloved parents and elders. Amana Takaful Sei Nandri provides financial assistance to those who become helpless at a time of hospitalisation. Our partnership with Northern Central Hospital in Jaffna is a welcome relief to the senior citizens as we will be reaching out to the public who hitherto did not know that they had an option of insurance which will help them immensely when most needed.” Northern Central Hospital Jaffna Founder Chairman, S.P. Samy further added: “We at the Northern Central Hospital are always looking to better our service to ensure that we provide quality patient care with compassion and unrelenting attention to clinical excellence, patient safety, passion and commitment to assure the best healthcare to all those we serve. This strategic partnership with Amana Takaful allows our patients to benefit further. Sei Nandri which is available to anyone above the age of 55 and below the age of 73 is a vital cover as it looks after the medical bills, home nursing care, ambulance transfer and concessions on wheel chairs among other benefits offered.” Northern Central Hospital is a private hospital dedicated to providing quality, value driven health care to all, regardless of their ability to pay. The hospital is the largest fully equipped private secondary health care centre in the North East Sri Lanka. With branches in 22 locations island-wide, Amana Takaful has been successful in its journey of almost 15 years in establishing a strong position for the concept of Takaful in the industry.
