(Bernama) MELAKA- The Melaka Indian Chamber of Commerce has urged Indian entrepreneurs to expand their businesses internationally and penetrate the Sri Lankan market. Its Chairman Datuk R. Rajasekharan said Sri Lanka had great potential for Malaysian entrepreneurs to sell their products and invest in products in that country. “We see that Sri Lanka needs expertise for development in the country, especially in education, house construction and development of highways, so this is our chance to share the expertise we have,” he told reporters after attending a dialogue with Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ibrahim Ansar here Monday. He said the country was also seen as needing investors to promote Sri Lankan tea and gems to the global market. “Sri Lanka has quality products like tea and gems, but they don’t have investors to market the products,” he added. He said companies and local entrepreneurs interested in investment opportunities in Sri Lanka could contact the Melaka Indian Chamber of Commerce for more information.
