As of 8 July, Milcris Ltd. is the first-ever Sri Lankan construction consultant to be regulated by the prestigious Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK (RICS).
Milcris Ltd. is a leading surveying and management consultancy with offices in both Sri Lanka and Oman undertaking cost management, quantity surveying, project controls, project management and facilities management. The company is currently engaged in a wide array of large projects in residential, education, transportation, water supply, infrastructure, health, logistic facility, leisure and commercial sectors.
Being regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors conveys the company’s technical aptitude to do a professional job for their clients. Milcris is the first Sri Lankan company to be awarded this prestigious recognition. As a regulated firm, Milcris is required to comply with the high professional, technical and ethical standards of the RICS, with particular emphasis on RICS Rules of Conduct, covering professional indemnity insurance, training of staff, complaints handling and, where applicable, the handling of clients’ money in order to comply with the rules of conduct for firms.

RICS regulation ensures standards are met by providing independent quality assurance in a professional environment for both individuals and firms. This regulation ensures that surveyors are doing the best possible job in the best interests of their clients.
Undoubtedly this will enhance the quality and standard of the Sri Lankan construction industry. This comes at an opportune time when Sri Lanka is pursuing its ambitious development drive to be the ‘Wonder of Asia’.
To date Milcris has completed 43 projects and enjoys a turnover in excess of US$ 6 million per annum, a figure which is expected to reach US$ 10 million by the end of this year. Milcris will also be opening a branch office in Qatar next month, while another office is scheduled to be opened in the UAE this month.
